Pro Bono Planners Australia (PbPA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and values-aligned professionals to join our Board as we enter a critical phase of growth. 

PbPA is a purpose-driven, volunteer-led not-for-profit mobilising urban planning and allied professionals to support communities across Australia and internationally. Our work is grounded in locally-led, equitable and sustainable development, advancing social justice, environmental stewardship and community resilience. 

As we move through our establishment phase, we are strengthening our Board to support innovation, social enterprise development, strategic growth and financial sustainability.

We are particularly seeking experience in: 

• Strategic growth and organisational scaling  
• Revenue models, philanthropy and partnerships 
• Finance and financial oversight 
• Risk and governance 
• Communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement  

Role and contribution 

Board Directors will: 

• Provide strategic oversight, governance and risk stewardship  
• Support the development of sustainable revenue models, including social enterprise and partnerships 
• Strengthen PbPA’s case for support and positioning  
• Contribute to strategic growth and business development conversations  
• Leverage networks to enable connections with donors, foundations and partners  

Who we’re looking for 

We welcome individuals who: 

• Bring senior experience across strategy, social enterprise, philanthropy, revenue, finance, risk, governance or communications  
• Can contribute both strategically and practically in a growth-stage environment  
• Have strong judgement, credibility and relationship networks  
• Are comfortable supporting a founder-led organisation with ambition and purpose 
• Are aligned with PbPA’s commitment to locally-led development and public benefit outcomes  

Commitment 

This is a voluntary Board Director role involving active participation in Board and committee work.
